GUIDANCE NEWS

  • Seniors-A representative from Thomas College will be in the Guidance Office Monday, March 15th at 11:00 am. Sign up in Guidance.
  • Juniors-Portland Seadogs hosts a College Fair and Baseball game on May 4th. Chance to win a $500 scholarship during the 5th inning. Contact the Sea Dogs ticket office to get 2 free tickets. FMI- See the Guidance Office
  • Sophomores - deadline for SRVC applications is tomorrow, March 12th. Interviews will be held on Friday, March 24th at SRVC during the PM session. If interested, please submit your Field Trip permission form to the Guidance Office prior to March 24th.
  • Sophomores and Juniors-if you are interested in taking an on-line course next year through the University of Maine, see your guidance counselor. There are many interesting options.

    FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS will be held Tuesday, March 16th from 5:30-8:30 pm. Students in band, chorus, and drama will be performing and there will be ongoing displays and demonstrations from art students. All are welcome.

    The Civil Rights Team will meet today, March 11th in room 218 @ 2:05.

    The YAP/EPIC group will meet Friday, March 12th in rm 218 @ 2:05. All are welcome to help with spring planning.

    HAITI FUNDRAISER- The Civil Rights Team is collecting money for Haiti during lunch. FMI-See Ms. Cotty

    SELF DEFENSE- There will be a one-time Self Defense class for Senior Girls on Wednesday, March 24, 6-8 pm in the Gym. Sign up in the Main Office

    Mr WHS- There is a mandatory meeting for all contestants and escorts participating in Mr. WHS on Thursday @ 6:00 pm. at Shelley Duplisea’s house. The Mr. WHS competition will be held March 18th at 7:00 pm.

    NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH-March is National Nutrition Month. Choose a heart-healthy item from the menu and you might win a prize! Yesterday’s winners were : Katherine Quint and Adam Williams!

    SUNDANCE FILM FEST-Anyone submitting a video for the Festival MUST see Mrs. Taylor for an information sheet. Deadline for submitting completed videos is tomorrow, March 12th

    COFFEE HOUSE- Interested performers need to attend practices for the next two Mondays (3/15, & 3/22) in room 304. FMI- See Ms. Baker

    FOOD DRIVE COLLECTION-Food Drive Competition to benefit York County Food Pantries. Any donation of a non-perishable food item will be accepted. The class with the most donations will win $250 for their class. Collections will continue through March 18th. FMI- see any Class Advisor

    ST. PATRICK’S DAY CARNATION SALE - Send your friends a“Bit O’Luck” by buying them a green carnation for $2 this week during lunch. They will be delivered on St. Patrick’s Day.

  • Winter Sports Awards Night- - Tonight, March 11th - Ice cream social at 6 pm. Awards begin at 6:30pm in the gym.
  • Softball Sign Ups-Sign up sheet located in Main Office. Meeting today, March 11th in Rm 221. FMI-see Mr. Fox
  • Baseball-Pre-season informational meeting for all candidates- Today, March 11th - 2:05pm - in the Library. See bulletin board by Rm 106 for information. FMI- see Coach Audet in Rm 110
  • Intramurals- Congratulations to team “Old School” the 2010 Intramural Volleyball Champions! All intramural partipants are asked to fill out an online evaluation at www.whsintramurals.info. Do so and become eligible for a DQ Blizzard!
